Every weekend, a daring handful of individuals risk violent death for the sake of their sport.
But they're not parachuting from planes, driving V8 supercars, or rafting wild rapids.
They're rock fishing, a passion that kills more Australians than any other sporting activity.
Some anglers actually embrace the danger and pit themselves against the wildest seas in search of the ultimate catch.
But most are just fatally ignorant. Often non-swimmers, unfamiliar with the ocean, they ignore warnings and forego safety gear such as life jackets.
All it takes is a moment of distraction, just one big wave, and the daily catch turns deadly.
