Sandra Cleary has a broad range of television experience having worked as a producer on current affairs, lifestyle and variety programmes both in Australia and overseas.
After graduating from the NSW University of Technology with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication, Sandra began her television career at the Seven Network as associate producer of the daytime news programme 11 AM and later as a researcher/producer on This is Your Life.
Sandra joined the Nine Network as a producer on The Mike Walsh Show in 1982 moving on to the role of supervising producer of The Midday Show with Ray Martin in 1986. She was part of the team which developed and produced the new lifestyle programme for the Nine Network's Live at 5.
In 1991 Sandra moved to the UK to take up the position as the London-based producer for A Current Affair. During this time she produced the first television interview with Christopher Skase as well as numerous breaking stories on the Royal Family and British and European politics. In 1993 Sandra accepted a position as a producer for the daily news programme London Tonight for Carlton TV.
When Sandra returned to Australia in 1994 she worked briefly for A Current Affair before joining 60 Minutes as a producer in 1995. Over the years Sandra has secured some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry for interviews on 60 Minutes. She specialises in stories of human interest and social change, such as the impact of divorce on children.
